Rescuing the Bad Boy Second Chance Jessica Lemmon 9781455558063 Books

The reason the first book was so good- was because, for once, the guy was willing to commit. This book was well written and the characters were fine.... but the guy was unwilling to commit. Made this book just like a lot of others.

Pair that thought with the prologue, and my opinion never recovered. I have never been a person who thought you could treat someone badly and then justify it. I understand, he suffered....he only knew how to make bad choices.... he still knew what he was doing was wrong-- which meant he shouldn't have done it.

Personally, I would read book one and leave it at that.

Rescuing the Bad Boy Second Chance Jessica Lemmon 9781455558063 Books Reviews

Donovan Pate is definitely the best kind of bad boy...a bad boy with a big heart and a broken spirit he needs help fixing. He broke Sofie's heart once, but she can't help but open herself up to him when he shows back up seven years later. I absolutely loved this story and the characters both main and secondary!
I really liked Jessica Lemmon's style of writing, this series is the first of hers for me. I really liked the story line and quickly became attached to the characters. I liked it so much i got the second book in the series and have read it and liked it as well and can not wait for the third in the series. I couldn't help but get caught up with each character couples in each book. I am really looking forward to the last book as I wanted to see the two main characters get together.
Loved! This! Book! The story is incredible and the writing is spectacular! Rarely can an author make me loathe a character so quickly and have me love him so deeply at the end. Donovan who appears to be the baddest of bad boys turns out to be one of the most loving and caring men around. Now Sofie just needs him to believe it. This is a great read and everyone needs it on the must read list. I highly recommend it.
This is a second chance romance with a lot of heart. Donovan carries many scars, both physically and emotionally, from his horrible childhood. When he left town seven years ago, Sophie was the only person who made him feel cared for. But he left anyway knowing he'd never deserve her.

This was a wonderful addition to the author's 'Second Chance' series. A fun thing about this book is the epilogue which shows us Donovan and Sophie many years into their future.
I really really loved and enjoyed this one. I thought everything about this book was great and I just found nothing wrong with the characters or the story line. I really loved the character of Donovan and his story. I just thought he was an incredible character and his story just touched my heart. This is a really great series. One that you can definitly not go wrong with. Really can't wait for Connors story!

**4.5** Stars

I love second chance romance and this story was a perfect example.

Yes, Donovan Pate was an A$$ to Sofie when they *first* got together 7 years ago and continued to be so throughout the book. But keeping in mind of his childhood history, the man had major issues. He lacked love and comfort from those who should have been his #1 protectors. I enjoyed how the author portrayed his character - he is not perfect and he does not recognize what most of us take for granted.

This book had a serious topic weaved within the story. The author did a great job in keeping it "real." The relationship between Donny and Sofie the second time around was hard to accept at first. He hurt her 7 years ago, but the connection that began never really died for either one of them.

Donovan is one of the Bad Boys of Evergreen Cove - fell in love with him, flaws and all.
Jessica Lemmon has quickly become a favorite author of mine. Sitting down with one of her titles is like soothing away any worries. You're able to escape in the richness of her prose consumed by the beauty of her story. Rescuing the Bad Boy is a feel good contemporary romance told from the third person POV. It's the kind of love story that makes readers feel everything for the characters. Her recipe of hot, brooding, alpha male coupled with a strong, fiery female thrust together after seven years of not seeing each other forced to work together for a charity that touches both of them well let's just say the story will make you smile, laugh, and just feel really good - romance perfection.

As the second book in the Second Chance series it can definitely be read as a stand alone since the two main characters are different. I wouldn't personally recommend it because book one is equally as awesome and on my must read list. The star of this show this bad boy, Donovan Pate, has been gone from Evergreen Cove for 7 years after a tumultuous and tragic upbringing. His escape meant from the Cove his only refuge in a bleak life no matter the cost. Sofie Martin has been living with his ghost in a sense for those same 7 years. His sacrifice of departure was Sofie whose proverbial scars never fully healed. When Donovan returns to the cove these old hurts are unwrapped from their tightly sealed bandaging as the two navigate the still present, extremely fiery passion between them. Lemmon writes their banter, their chemistry, and their vulnerabilities with such precision you feel all of their emotions.

This author excels at romance story telling. Her story structure remained solid throughout the book never lingering on unnecessary details. She doesn't create angst for her characters but rather provides a safe place for them to grow together and explore the undeniable connection between them where the angst and conflict naturally flows. Their personalities compliment each other so well and with much to overcome. That's where the natural conflict stems. And the way they do that is organic, sweet, and vital to the enjoyment of this story.

If you love contemporary romance you don't want to miss this Second Chance series by Jessica Lemmon. Her writing and story telling prowess will leaving your reading hearts beyond satisfied. If you're a Kristen Ashley lover or a lover of awesome alpha males and strong feisty heroines you don't want to miss the titles of Jessica Lemmon. Rescuing the Bad Boy introduced me to a new alpha I can swoon over, a heroine I admire, plus expanded upon the cast characters from Evergreen Cove I grew to love in book one. I can't wait to continue on with the rest of the series.
