This was a little bit different than I expected based of the preview excerpts but it is still good. I don't know how else to describe what I mean by that. Let me try: I am very into self-help, inspirational poetry and literature. However, when I was reading this, it just felt very emotional, which is not a bad thing but it just isn't my style. A lot of the poems focus on how another person makes you feel and I'm a very independent person. I like reading things that make me whole in myself and are not confessions of love for another person. Yes, I like that side of poetry but this was a little much for me. JUST A PERSONAL OPINION THOUGH. For example, "The Most Important Thing Humans Do" reads, "Go to work. Eat. Dream. Try to sleep. Think of you. Count the stars. Wake up. Think of you. Be here. Listen to what they're saying. Think of you..... etc etc...." You get it. Not my style. If you don't like reading things that make you feel like you are completely reliant on another person to function then I would probably skip reading this. No offense to the author, it's great work. Just not my personal preference of poetry.

I Wrote This For You pleasefindthis Iain S Thomas Jon Ellis 8601420458802 Books Reviews

I loved this book. It is an interesting combination of photography and literature that is very memorable. I read the whole thing in a few hours, and still keep going through it again. It's definitely something that you can read more than once, twice, or even ten times. I would definitely recommend this, and plan on buying others within the series in the future.
very good poems, a bit on the dark side but nothing you need to keep away from your teenager. My 14yo daughter loves it and three of her friend have read her copy also. I've purchased more from this author from , I recommend it!
For anyone who's ever been a relationship, a break-up and the pendulum swinging between finding yourself alone and finally letting go... This book will help you remember the joy and heartache that comes with love and seeing the world from a different perspective. Visually intriguing and a book to make you think about the first time you truly fell in and out of love.
this is the very first time i give bad review on a book. But this book was such a waste of time and money. Couldn't even finish it. Not sure what the writer is attempting here, but its so shallow, empty of actual context, and just makes no sense to me. I don't know the point of the huge images, they don't fit with the idea of whats written with them. I shouldn't have bought based on reviews, because i guess some people like reading things like this. Its just very very empty. Too big of a disappointment. It just leaves a feeling of "what?" "huh?...." and "wth did i just read?"
This is a good book. It is so basic but makes so much sense. Must read.
Usually poem books or short and to the point. This book had its varieties. I enjoyed it and took my time with it as you can see with the coffee stains and what not. I had a few poems stick out to me much more than others. Def recommend! Only downside is the photographs don't always fit MY interpretation of the poem itself. But maybe that won't be the case for you!
I read to my grandfather from this book at the hospital for days. I bookmarked passages that I loved with torn up tissue papers because I couldn't stand to leave his side. We took breaks from the heartfelt, 20 page letter his daughter (my aunt) had sent him to beg him to hold on. She is in prison in another state, and she couldn't see her father in his last days. She wrote about forgiveness, on God and love and compassion, and on my grandfather's strength and love for us all. On our love for him back.

He never responded, but I know he heard me read him this. I know he heard her talking to him on the phone. I know he heard me whisper in his ear, late and night and long after everyone else had fallen asleep, "You're okay. Thank you. I'm sorry. You've been so brave. Your sister is coming. Soon you won't have to hold on any more. I'm so sorry. I love you. I promise to take care of everyone. I promise everyone is going to be okay. Please hold on a little longer. I love you..."

When they finally took off all the tubes, he didn't stir much as his blood pressure slowly but steadily dropped. He didn't open his eyes, but... I know he heard his family, all crowding around to show how much they love him.

I know he heard us singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" as his heart rate slowed.

I read this book again on the plane ride home. I can't count how many times I've read it since.

... If you didn't like the book, it's because you're not the one he wrote it for. Give it to someone that looks like they might be.
