Kyla wanted to stay with the Pack in Oregon to try helping people, but a recent series of murders involving ritualistic symbols is more than Camille bargained for when she agreed. As the case gets closer to home, overcoming her aversion to magic might be the only option alongside Kyla's determination to prevent more murders. With the help of Camille's sister, Luna, and the Supernatural Council's case lead, Abby, Camille and Kyla are on the hunt for a killer.

It's simple really. The author. I will always give her five stars because she is a very good one and I overlook some things that I normally would not. The story of Kyla and Camille is beginning to bore me a bit. Something really new needs to happen there. I am surprised that the author doesn't realize the wonderful character she created in Abby and move forward with her. Perhaps it is time to put the two werewolves in a supporting role and go with the incredibly interesting Abby and the council. The first book I read by this author is Breaking Legacies and although she is very good she, in my opinion, has yet to produce a book that measures up to that one. That could be a little unfair of me but it is merely my opinion. I still highly recommend her books.Product details

The Innocent In Spirit and Truth Volume 3 Zoe Reed 9781546671671 Books Reviews
3rd book in the series pulled through, very excited to read this and didn't put it down
I am so happy to see this series return. I've been a fan since book 1 and I'm really happy with the direction the series is headed in. Camille and Kyla continue to be a cute but complex love story, and The Innocent gives them a bit of breathing room after the rough time they had of things in Phantoms. This novel also reintroduces Camille's twin Luna and further deepens and expands Kyla's (and later Camille's) friendship with the psychic Abby we met in book 2.
The plot isn't groundbreaking, but it's definitely interesting, and it allows for a lot of great character development. The short of it is Kyla and Camille are finally settling into their new status quo (Kyla's a werewolf and comfortable with it, they're together and working through the last of their conflicts from the first two books, etc.) when a string of murders pulls them back into mystery solving mode. Much of the plot itself is pretty standalone, though elements of it will have consequences down the road - especially where Abby's father and the supernatural big wigs are concerned. The character development is really the driving force with this one though. Camille and Kyla strengthen their relationship, they both work to get over some past traumas and guilt, Abby gets to know Camille outside of her role as 'Kyla's girlfriend', and the book positions all three of them to move forward toward some great new stories down the road.
All in all, if you liked the first two novels, The Innocent is a familiar return to great characters, and it finally gives us a books worth of content in which Camille and Kyla are happily together. Abby gets a whole lot more development and her more prominent role is a great addition to the story. There's definitely more to come with this series, and I'm eager to see where we end up next.
This new installment of the In Spirit and Truth series is a great example of character development and how the author's voice can evolve and grow when they put the effort and work into improving their craft. Once again I found myself submerged in the world of the supernatural but this time I encountered a more mature and settled Kyla and Camille. It seems like this novel is the perfect bridge between the previous young adult oriented books and a new, more intense sort of story. The romance is still there and strong, with the added bonus of the teasers of a future romance between Camille, Kyla and Abby, which I'm sure will lead to an exciting poly relationship that goes along perfectly with this diverse universe. Instead of recurring to the well used love triangle, Reed shows us a great set up where we see how Camille starts interacting with Abby and new doors are opened just enough to let us glimpse a world of possibilities.
As for the plot, the book adds the elements that we are used to to a more mystery based story with conflicts and questions that test the characters' abilities and willingness to fight for what is right. There seem to be darker undertones that reflect the maturity all of them are acquiring. One of the things I love the most is how much the secondary characters are starting to take bigger roles and getting more involved. Luna is back people! There are also new supernaturals in town and new obstacles that the wolves and Abby are going to have to face eventually. It feels like Team Psywolf is consolidating and I can't wait to see how they'll surprise us next.
This series turned out to be even more than I was expecting and I'm so glad. When it started I knew the characters would get under my skin and that they would evolve into people that are familiar and yet surprising. They feel more like old friends now than just fictional characters and that speaks of Reed's ability to develop their personalities and this world in general. I feel like they are still going to surprise me years from now.
It's a good story and I love camille and Kyle together but not fond of story lines with multiple love interests. Choose one person but then again still love someone else. The rest of the story was good and I enjoyed it as well of the moments Camille and Kula had. They have a real connection even without the blood bond. Love them aNd a couple and a team but my idea of a good romance is loving only one.
The three books in the series had spirit and adventure. They explored deeper subjects and more light hearted topics. If only there were more books about Camille and the rest!!
I really liked how Abby and Camille became friends in this book so Kyla didn't have to lose one or the other. I can't wait for the next book.
Another worthwhile entry in this series. The only negative was that one of the main characters started speaking differently to the way she had in the previous books, ie., saying things like ain’t. There was a big improvement in grammar from the previous entries, which was pleasing. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by this author.
